Elizabeth was born on February 7th, 1793 in Alva, Stirlingshire, Scotland to John Cochrane and Anne Hunter. She was the seventh of nine children, five girls and four boys.

She married William Millar on May 24th, 1818 in Sauchie. They had eight children together, Ann, James, Mary, Robert, John, Elizabeth, William and Alexander, all of whom lived to adulthood, all born in Sauchie.

Their first child, Ann, was born on February 22nd, 1820.

Their second child, James, was born in 1821.

Their third child, Mary, was born in March of 1823.

Their fourth child, Robert, was born on March 30th, 1824.

Their fifth child, John, was born on July 12th, 1826.

Their sixth child, Elizabeth, was born on April 2nd, 1829.

Their seventh child, William, was born on July 27th, 1830.

Their eighth and last child, Alexander, was born on March 7th, 1836.

All of their children lived to adulthood.

From the typed copy of "Family Histor of William Millar Sr." given to me by my grandfather, Roldand Edward Miller. I do not know who wrote it:
The wife of William Millar Sr. died about 1852. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Cochrane. Her genealogy could be traced back to Sir John Cochrane, a knight and Free Mason. He offended the royalty of Scotland and was condemned to be beheaded. He was imprisoned and nearly starved to death. His daughter took the death warrant from the carrier, three times on the way from London, thereby hindering the execution, until the French interfered and he was pardoned. He was perhaps kept in Sterling Castle which is seven miles from Alva."
Elizabeth died in 1852 in Sauchie, Clackmananshire, Scotlan.
