Eterick Arthur "Doc" Miller

Eterick Arthur "Doc" Miller was born on March 16, 1897, in American Fork, UT in the USA. His father, Robert Collin Miller, was 29 and his mother, Agnes Marie Hensenia Philhemina Cook, was 25. He was the second of five children and the oldest son. He had blue eyes and blond hair.

His mother was from Denmark and spoke Danish.

In 1910, Doc was fourteen years old and still living on the northwest side of Bingham Canyon, Utah with his parents, three brothers and two sisters. According to the census he was still in school, and could read and write, and ended up completing three years of high school.

He married Olive Eriksen on December 20, 1915 when he was eighteen years old, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Military records -  He registered for the WWI draft, but was never called.

On the 25th of May in 1917 their first daughter was born. They named her Ruby Lucille. She was a beautiful blond child, but sadly only lived for two short years. She died on December 13th, 1919.

They lived in a rented house at 144 Main st. in Bingham Canyon, Utah at the time. He was employed as a salesman/clerk for the Miner Mercantile company and made deliveries in the truck shown above.

Their second child, Roland Edward, was born on May 7th, 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT.

Their third child [still living in 2013], was born on October 10th, 1929 in Salt Lake City, UT.

In 1930 he was 33 years old and lived in Salt Lake City, Utah with his family. He worked as a manager for a general merchandise company. Their son, Roland, was eight years old and their daughter Beverly was an infant. Some time before 1934 they moved to the rear lot at 1035 7th East, Salt Lake City, UT.

They still lived there in 1940 and paid $30 a month for rent. He was the proprietor of his own retail grocery business and worked an average of 72 hours a week.

He died on January 7, 1973, in Midvale, Utah, at the age of 75, and is buried at the Sandy City Cemetery in Sandy, UT.
