John Baptist DuMont

John was born in August 1857 in New York in the United States to unknown parents who were French Canadian.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Ryan on August 24th, 1878 in St. Albans City, Vermont when he was twenty one and she was seventeen.

Their first child, Rose, was born in 1880*.

Their second child, Blanche May, was born in September of 1881.

Their third child, John, was born in August of 1883.

Their fourth child, Jenny June, was born June 26th, 1885 in Hennepin, Minnesota.

Their fifth child, Arthur T., was born in May of 1887.

Their sixth child, Frederick C., was born in September of 1889.

Their seventh child, Mamie, was born in January of 1893.

Their eighth child, George Henry, was born on November 13th, 1895 in Minneapolis, MN.

Their ninth and last child, Harold Ely, was born on May 24th, 1898 in Minneapolis, MN.


In 1900 John lived in Minneapolis Ward 10, Minnesota with his wife and eight children. He was a pattern maker in a foundry.

In 1905 he still lived in Minneapolis with Sarah and the children. He was still a pattern maker.

In 1910 he also still lived in Minneapolis with Sarah, Arthur, Fred, George and Harold. He was still working as a pattern maker.

John died some time between 1910 and 1930.

*I don't have any date information for Rose. There is no later mention of her on census records.
