Olive Jeanette "Nettie" Butterfield

Olive was born on November 14th, 1873 in Herriman, in the Utah territory of the United States to Almon Butterfield and Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Farmer. She was the sixth of fifteen children, six girls and nine boys. She also had two half siblings from her father's second (plural) marriage, one boy and one girl.

In 1880 she was seven years old and lived with her parents and six siblings in Herriman. Her father was a farmer.

She Married Samuel Heber Crump on January 1st, 1896 in Salt Lake City, UT when he was twenty eight years old, and she was twenty two.

Their first child died at birth.

Their second child, Heber Asahel, was born on September 1st, 1896 in Herriman, UT. He was born prematurely and according to my grandmother (his daughter) he wasn't expected to live. He was bundled up in blankets and put in a basket next to the kitchen stove for warmth. He did survive, but was always a small child. He had asthma and was often ill.

Their third child, James Edward, was born on September 8th, 1898 in Herriman and died at birth.

In 1900 they lived in Herriman, UT with young Heber. Samuel worked as a day laborer.

Their fourth child, Elizabeth Emma, was born on April 7th, 1902 in Herriman.

Their fifth child, Willard Glen, was born on September 14th, 1905 in Herriman.

Their sixth and last child, DeLos Dean, was born on June 26th, 1909 in Herriman.

In 1920 at the age of forty seven, Olive and Heber lived in Precinct 9 of Salt Lake County with their four children. He was a laborer and they owned their home free of mortgage.

In 1936 Olive and Heber lived in Herriman, UT
