In 1900 he was eight years old and lived in Vernon Township, Jennings County IN. He was attending school.
He completed two years of high school.
In 1910 he was nineteen, single and lived alone in a rented home in Mitchell Ward 2, Davison, South Dakota. He listed his occupation as a recently unemployed teamster hack driver.
He registered for the draft on May 29th, 1917 but was never called.
He married Gladys Emma Bishop some time around 1918.
Their first child, Duane Ellsworth, was born on March 9th, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota.
In 1920 he lived with Gladys in Duluth, Minnesota and worked as a railroad breakman for DM & N Railroad. Their first son, Duane, was an infant.
Their second child, Ralph Leonard, was born on January 7th, 1928 in Duluth.
In 1930 he was thirty eight years old, still lived with Gladys in Duluth, had two children, and he listed himself as an unemployed RR breakman.
Their third child, Beverly J., was born in 1933.
In 1940 they lived at 526 W 4th St, Proctor, MN. He was working as a railroad conductor and they owned their home, which was valued at $1900. He earned $1444 dollars per year. Their two younger children still lived at home.
In 1960 he was sixty nine years old and was living at 626 4th P, Duluth, MN with Gladys, and still working as a railroad conductor.
He died on January 16th, 1969 in Proctor, Minnesota, USA at the age of seventy seven. He was buried at the Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
