Judith Pixley

Judith was born on January 12th, 1796 in Sharon, Windsor County, Vermont in the United States to John Pixley and Anne Rouse. She had a half brother and half sister from her father's first marriage, and she was the third of four children between her parents, two boys and two girls.

She married Oliver Moore some time around 1824 when he was  twenty years old and she was twenty eight. They had seven children together.

Their first child, Florella, was born in 1825 in New York.

Their second child, Rosaline, was born on January 3rd, 1827 in Royalton, NY.

Their third child, Romanzo, was born in on December 23rd, 1829 in Great Valley, NY.

In 1830 they lived in Freedom, NY with their three children.

Their fourth child, Emily, was born in 1832 in Freedom, NY.

Their fifth child, Almira, was born in 1833 in New York.

Their sixth child, Luzetta, was born on July 22nd, 1835 in New York.

Their seventh and last child, Almena, was born on April 7th, 1838 in Freedom, NY.

In 1840 they lived on their 40 acre farm in Freedom, NY where they were some of the very early settlers. They cleared the land themselves.They lived with all seven of their children.

In 1850 their farm in Freedom, NY had sixty five acres of improved land, and thirty five acres of unimproved land. It was valued at $1200, and they had $140 worth of farming equipment and tools. They owned three horses, four milk cows, two working oxen, twelve other cattle, twenty four sheep, and five pigs. their livestock was valued at $450. They grew twenty seven bushels of wheat, twenty of Indian corn, and one hundred fifty bushels of oats.

In 1860 they lived on the farm with their daughters, Emily and Almira, and two eight year old children, probably each a child of their daughters. The farm was valued at $1500. They had thirty acres of improved land, and twenty acres of unimproved land. They had $50 worth of farming equipment and tools. They owned two horses, three milk cows, one other head of cattle, and three pigs. Their livestock was valued at $190. They grew ten bushels of wheat and twenty five bushels of oats.

They moved to Allegeny in April of 1869. 

In 1870 they lived in Allegeny, NY with daughter Emma and grandson Hiram. Oliver and Hiram worked the farm, which was valued at $2000.

Oliver died on March 2th, 1877 in Allegheny, NY.

Judith died on August 19th, 1879 in Allegheny, NY.
